Temperature conversion formulas:
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9Example: Convert 180 °C (common European baking temperature).
180 × 9/5 + 32 = 356 °FConvert 375 °F: (375 − 32) × 5/9 = 190.5 °C (approximately Gas Mark 5)
Gas Marks are a temperature scale used on gas ovens, mainly in the UK and some Commonwealth countries. Gas Mark 1 is 135 °C (275 °F) and each increment adds roughly 14 °C (25 °F).
A moderate oven is 180 °C (350 °F / Gas Mark 4). A 'hot oven' is 200–220 °C (400–425 °F), and a 'slow oven' is 150 °C (300 °F / Gas Mark 2).
