Calculate your body surface area (BSA) using three proven formulas. Enter weight and height to get results from Du Bois, Mosteller, and Haycock methods.
BSA is used in medicine to calculate drug dosages (especially chemotherapy), determine cardiac index, and assess burn severity. It provides a more accurate measure than weight alone for metabolic processes.
The Du Bois formula is the most widely used. Mosteller is simpler and commonly used in clinical practice. Haycock is preferred for pediatric patients. Results are usually very similar between formulas.
Average adult BSA is approximately 1.7 m² for women and 1.9 m² for men. Values typically range from 1.5 to 2.2 m² depending on body size.
